September has always been one of my favourite months. Not only does it feel like a fresh start, but it's my birthday month too... eek! The big 4-2 this year! I know, I know... I don't look it, right? 😂
Joking aside, birthdays always make me stop and reflect. If it wasn't for FAB Skincare, who knows where I'd be today? Building this business has completely changed my life, and every September feels like the start of another exciting chapter.
The holidays are over, the kids are heading back to school—woohoo, I hear some of you scream! Diaries begin to fill up again, routines return and life starts to find its rhythm. Whether you're getting little ones ready for the school run, heading back into the office or simply settling into a new season, it's also the perfect time to reset your skincare routine.
One thing birthdays have taught me is that getting older isn't something to fear—it's a privilege. My goal has never been to stop the ageing process; it's always been to help my skin age as healthily as possible. That's exactly why September feels like the perfect time to reset, refocus and get back to the small habits that make the biggest difference.
Just like our daily routines, our skin thrives on consistency. After everything it's been through over the summer months, September is the perfect opportunity to refresh your skincare routine, support your skin barrier and prepare your complexion for the season ahead.

How Summer Can Affect Your Skin
We all love summer, but our skin often tells a different story.
Long days in the sunshine, holidays abroad, air conditioning, late nights, sea water, chlorine and even wearing SPF every day can all have an impact on how your skin looks and feels. By the time September arrives, it's completely normal for your complexion to feel dehydrated, dull or simply a little out of balance.
While summer is all about protecting your skin, autumn is about restoring it.
A simple autumn skincare routine focused on hydration and supporting your skin barrier can make all the difference. Resetting your routine now helps replenish lost moisture, strengthen your skin barrier and prepare your complexion for the cooler months ahead.
Why Your Skincare Routine Should Change With the Seasons
As temperatures begin to drop, so does the moisture in the air.
Before we know it, the heating will be back on, mornings become cooler and the crisp autumn weather starts to take its toll. These seasonal changes can leave skin feeling tighter, drier and more sensitive than it did just a few weeks earlier.
That's why September is such an important month for skincare.
Updating your skincare routine for autumn doesn't have to mean buying lots of new products. Sometimes, making a few simple changes is all your skin needs to stay healthy, hydrated and comfortable throughout the season.
I always say it's much easier to prepare your skin than repair it.
Why Consistency Is the Secret to Healthy Skin
One thing I've learnt over the years is that healthy skin isn't about having a shelf full of products.
It's about using the right products consistently.
A gentle cleanse every morning and evening. Daily hydration. Protecting your skin barrier. Wearing SPF. Giving your skin a little extra care when it needs it.
Those small habits, repeated every day, are what create long-term results.
When life gets busy again in September, keeping your skincare routine simple makes it much easier to stick to—and your skin will thank you for it.
Not Sure Where to Start?
One of the questions we get asked the most is:
"Which products are right for my skin?"
The truth is, everyone's skin is different. What works brilliantly for one person might not be exactly what someone else's skin needs.
That's exactly why we created the FAB Skin Quiz
In just a few minutes, our personalised quiz helps identify your biggest skin concerns before recommending the products best suited to your skin and your goals. Whether you're looking to boost hydration, target blemishes, support healthy ageing or build an autumn skincare routine that works for you, we'll point you in the right direction.
No guesswork.
No complicated routines.
Just skincare tailored to you.
Your September Skin Reset Starts Today
September isn't about starting over—it's about getting back into the habits that make you feel your best.
As the seasons change, your skin naturally needs a little extra support. Resetting your skincare routine in September will help keep your skin healthy, hydrated and glowing throughout autumn and beyond.

One thing I've learnt after almost twenty years of treating skin is that healthy skin isn't built overnight. It's built through the small choices we make every single day—cleansing your skin, protecting your skin barrier, staying consistent with your routine and giving your skin the care it deserves.
So, as we head into a new season, why not make September the month you reset your skincare routine? Your future skin will thank you for it.
Healthy Skin Always Wins.
PS - One Habit I Never Skip
If there's one little habit I've stuck to for years, it's drinking coconut water every single day.
People often think of coconut water as something you only drink on holiday or during the summer, but I honestly drink it all year round. I always have a supply in the house, and my favourite is Vita Coco Original (the white carton) because I love the taste and it's become part of my daily routine.
Looking after your skin isn't just about the products you apply—it's also about looking after your body from the inside. Staying well hydrated plays an important role in your overall wellbeing, and coconut water is a simple way to support that.
One of the reasons I enjoy it so much is because it's naturally rich in electrolytes and nutrients, including:
-
Potassium – helps support normal muscle function and contributes to maintaining normal blood pressure.
-
Vitamin C – contributes to normal collagen formation for healthy skin and helps protect cells from oxidative stress.
-
Naturally occurring electrolytes – help support hydration, especially on busy days or after exercise.
-
Low in calories and fat – making it an easy addition to a balanced lifestyle.
I don't believe there's one magic food or drink that transforms your health overnight, but I do believe that small, consistent habits add up over time.
For me, drinking coconut water is one of those habits. I usually buy it in bulk so I always have some in the cupboard, and it's one of the easiest ways I've found to remind myself to stay hydrated.
After all, healthy skin isn't just about what you put on your body—it's also about how you look after it from within. So make the change this Autumn
