Over the years, I've seen skincare trends come and go.
I've watched miracle creams promise the impossible, ingredients become the latest must-have and new devices appear claiming to transform your skin overnight.
The truth is, healthy skin has never been about chasing quick fixes.
If you've followed me for a while, you'll know I always come back to the same message: Healthy Skin Always Wins.
To me, that means understanding your skin, protecting your skin barrier and building small, consistent habits that support your skin every single day.
That's exactly why LED Light Therapy has become one of my favourite treatments.
Whether I'm recommending it in the salon or using it at home myself, I love that it works with the skin rather than against it. It's gentle, relaxing and easy to fit into everyday life, making it one of the simplest ways to support healthier-looking skin over time.

So, What Is LED Light Therapy?
LED stands for Light Emitting Diode.
Although it sounds technical, the idea behind it is actually very simple.
LED therapy uses different wavelengths of visible light to support your skin's natural processes. Unlike UV light from the sun, which can contribute to premature skin ageing, LED light doesn't burn or damage the skin.
Instead, it delivers carefully selected wavelengths of light that your skin naturally responds to.
I often explain it to clients like this...
Imagine your skin cells are tiny batteries.
Every day they're working hard to repair, renew and protect your skin. Over time, factors such as ageing, stress, environmental damage and everyday life can affect how efficiently those cells perform.
LED light acts like an extra boost of energy, helping support your skin's natural functions so it can continue doing what healthy skin is designed to do.
It's not about changing your skin overnight.
It's about supporting it consistently.
How Does LED Actually Work?
Different colours of LED light travel to different depths within the skin.
Each wavelength interacts with skin cells in a slightly different way, which is why different light colours are recommended for different skin concerns.
This process is known as photobiomodulation, but don't let the name put you off.
All it really means is that your skin is using light as a source of energy.
When skin cells have the support they need, they can carry out their natural repair and renewal processes more efficiently. Over time, this helps improve the overall appearance of your complexion.
Healthy skin isn't created by forcing it to change.
It's created by supporting it to function at its best.
Which LED Light Is Right For Your Skin?
One of the questions I'm asked most often is...
"Laura, which colour should I use?"
The answer depends on what you'd like to improve.
❤️ Red Light
Red light reaches deeper into the skin and is ideal if your focus is healthy ageing.
It helps support collagen production, improving the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and skin firmness while promoting a brighter, more radiant complexion.
💙 Blue Light
Blue light works closer to the skin's surface and is perfect for blemish-prone or oily skin.
It helps reduce the appearance of breakouts by targeting blemish-causing bacteria while supporting a clearer-looking complexion.
💛 Yellow Light
Yellow light is one of my personal favourites.
It's brilliant for helping calm the appearance of redness, brighten dull skin and improve the look of uneven skin tone, making it ideal for skin that feels stressed or lacking its usual glow.
Why Your Skin Loves LED Therapy
One of the reasons I recommend LED so often is because it complements almost any skincare routine.
With regular use, LED therapy can help support:
-
A brighter, more radiant complexion.
-
The appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
-
Firmer, smoother-looking skin.
-
Blemish-prone skin.
-
Redness and uneven-looking skin.
-
A healthier-looking skin barrier.
Unlike more intensive treatments, LED requires no downtime, making it easy to fit around your daily life.
My Favourite Way To Use LED
Whenever I use my LED Mask, I like to think of it as ten minutes of self-care as well as skincare.
I always begin with No.1 Before You Cleanse to remove make-up and SPF before following with No.2 Daily Cleanser so my skin is perfectly clean and ready for treatment.
Once I've finished my LED session, I choose the rest of my routine depending on the time of day.
If it's the morning, I'll apply No.7 Youth Elixir before finishing with No.8 Moisturise + Protect SPF 15 to help lock in hydration and protect my skin throughout the day.
If I'm using my LED Mask in the evening, I'll finish with our No.4 Collagen Mask, allowing it to work overnight while my skin naturally repairs itself as I sleep.
It's a simple routine, but one that supports healthy skin day after day.
The Secret Is Consistency
One of the biggest misconceptions about LED therapy is that it's a quick fix.
It isn't.
Think about going to the gym.
One workout won't completely transform your body, but keep showing up week after week and you'll begin to notice the difference.
LED works in much the same way.
Those regular sessions build over time, helping to support healthier, stronger and more balanced-looking skin.
The biggest improvements don't come from doing more.
They come from staying consistent.
Is LED Right For Everyone?
LED therapy is suitable for most skin types and concerns, making it one of the most versatile treatments available.
Whether your goal is to support healthy ageing, improve the appearance of blemishes, calm redness or simply maintain a healthy glow, LED can become a valuable part of your routine.
If you have a medical condition that causes sensitivity to light, or you're taking medication that increases photosensitivity, it's always worth speaking to your healthcare professional before starting LED therapy.
My Final Thoughts

Healthy skin has never been about chasing perfection.
It's about understanding your skin, looking after it consistently and choosing treatments that support its natural ability to repair, protect and renew itself.
LED therapy isn't a miracle cure, and it was never designed to be. It's another tool that works alongside a great skincare routine, helping you build healthier-looking skin over time.
The best skincare results don't come from doing more. They come from doing the right things consistently.
Because, as I always say...
Healthy Skin Always Wins.
