Four years… honestly, where has that gone?
When I started FAB Skincare, I had absolutely no idea where this journey would take me. I just knew I wanted to create products that genuinely helped people feel confident in their skin. I wanted to reach more people with my products than I could ever physically treat in my salon, and if I’m honest, I don’t think I realised quite how much work that dream would take.
Looking back now, I honestly don’t know how I managed it all. I was running my beauty salon full-time whilst building a skincare brand from scratch. I’d spend my days treating clients, then come home and pack orders, answer emails, create social media content, learn about websites, organise photoshoots and somehow fit family life in around it all. Looking back, it sounds exhausting, but at the time I just got on with it because I believed in what I was building.
There were no shortcuts, no overnight success stories and certainly no manual telling me what to do. It was simply a case of learning every single day, making mistakes, picking myself up and carrying on.
This month’s journal isn’t about ingredients or skincare routines. It’s simply a little look back at the last four years and, most importantly, a huge thank you.
Love,
Laura x

It All Started With One Simple Goal
People often ask me why I started FAB Skincare, and the answer is actually really simple.
I loved treating my clients in the salon, but I knew there were only so many people I could physically see each week. I wanted to help more people. I wanted someone hundreds of miles away to experience the same products, the same advice and the same confidence that my salon clients were enjoying.
That’s where FAB Skincare began.
It wasn’t about creating products for the sake of it. It was about creating products I genuinely believed in—products I was proud to recommend, products I use myself every single day and products that I knew would genuinely make a difference.
I still remember the excitement of seeing those first products arrive. It was a mixture of pride, excitement and complete panic all at the same time! Looking back now, I wouldn’t change a single moment because every challenge has brought me to where I am today.
Four years later, knowing FAB products are sitting in bathrooms, on dressing tables and in handbags all over the country still amazes me.

Building a Business Isn’t Always Glamorous
If social media has taught us anything, it’s that people often see the highlights.
The beautiful packaging.
The product launches.
The smiling photographs.
The celebrations.
What people don’t always see are the late nights, the difficult decisions and the moments where you wonder if you’re doing the right thing.
I won’t pretend it’s all been easy because it definitely hasn’t. I’ve made some huge mistakes over the last four years, and if I’m honest, a few of them have cost me a small fortune. I’ve worked with people who promised me the world but simply couldn’t deliver, and at the time it was incredibly frustrating.
Looking back, I don’t regret those experiences.
Every single one taught me something.
They’ve made me ask more questions, trust my instincts, believe in my own judgement and realise that sometimes the biggest lessons come from the biggest setbacks.
People often say, “That’s business.”
I think they’re right.
You learn.
You grow.
And then you keep moving forward.

Who Would Have Thought?
One thing that always makes me smile is thinking back to my school reports.
I left school at fifteen with no qualifications, and every report seemed to say exactly the same thing…
“Laura talks too much.”
Well… who would’ve thought I’d end up talking about skincare every single day and actually getting paid for it!
The truth is, I didn’t think I was particularly good at anything back then. I just hadn’t found what I loved.
As soon as I discovered beauty, something clicked. I realised I loved learning, I loved helping people, I loved creating and I absolutely loved making people feel good about themselves.
Looking back now, I don’t think I lacked ability.
I simply hadn’t found my purpose yet.
Sometimes life has a funny way of leading you exactly where you’re meant to be.
FAB Has Grown… and So Have I
One of the biggest changes over the last year has been realising I can’t do everything on my own anymore. At the beginning, FAB was just me. Every order, every email, every social media post, every product launch and every little job landed on my desk. I wore every hat imaginable, and although I loved it, there comes a point where growth means learning to let people help you.
As the business has grown, so has the team around me, and I honestly couldn’t be more grateful.
Kian has become such an important part of FAB. He’s hardworking, passionate, always willing to learn and genuinely cares about the brand as much as I do. We work so well together, and he’s been instrumental in helping me keep everything moving forward while allowing me to focus on creating new ideas, products and content.
And then there’s Andrew.
He’s my biggest supporter behind the scenes, my sounding board and the person who reminds me why I started all of this in the first place. Building a business isn’t something you do alone, and having someone who believes in your vision as much as you do makes all the difference.
When I look at FAB today, I don’t just see a skincare brand. I see a small team of people who genuinely care. People who all want exactly the same thing…
To help you feel FAB in your own skin.
The Biggest Thank You
If you’ve ever bought a FAB product, visited my salon, read one of my journals, left a review, shared one of my posts, recommended me to a friend or simply followed my journey…
Thank you.
From the bottom of my heart.
When I created FAB Skincare, I dreamed of reaching more people than I could ever treat in the salon.
Thanks to you…That dream became a reality. Every order still makes me smile. Every review still gets read. Every message still means the world to me.I never take any of it for granted.
You’ve never just been customers.
You’ve become part of the FAB family.
And that’s something I’ll never stop appreciating.

Here’s to the Next Chapter
People often ask me what’s next for FAB? The truth is, I’m still learning every single day. There will probably be more mistakes. There will definitely be more challenges. But there will also be more products, more exciting ideas and even more ways for me to help you feel confident in your skin. The last four years have taught me that growth isn’t always easy. Change isn’t always easy. Building a business certainly isn’t easy.
But making people feel FAB… That part has always come naturally. I promise I’ll keep doing everything I can to make you feel FAB every single day.
I’m so excited about what’s coming next, and I honestly feel like we’re only just getting started.
My Final Thoughts
Four years ago, FAB Skincare was just an idea.
Today, it’s a brand I’m incredibly proud of Not because of the products, but because of the people. The community we’ve built together is something I never imagined when I packed those very first orders from home.
To every single one of you who has supported me over the last four years…
Thank you.
Whether you’ve bought one product or twenty, whether you’ve been with me from the beginning or you’ve only just discovered FAB, you’ve played a part in this journey.
I honestly couldn’t have done it without you. Here's to the next four years, I have a feeling they’re going to be the best yet.
